Preston Tower - Northumberland
Preston Tower was originally a 14th century stone rectangular hall-keep with square turrets at each corner. This was a real stronghold, not just a pele-tower, three storeys high with a vaulted basement and thick walls, sadly only the southern turrets and the connecting curtain wall now stand as a clock tower.
