British Meals
Who ever said British food is bland, obviously hasn't lived here or at least not had a well prepared meal.
I really enjoy food here in England, I guess one can tell with my "trouser" size being a little larger than it should.
The following are a few of the traditional dishes served in pubs, chip shops and of course in the home.
I have marked my favorites (*) along
with the favorites (**) of the kids.
Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding* This is England's traditional Sunday lunch. |
Toad-in-the-Hole sausages covered in batter and roasted. |
|
Fish and chips** Fish (cod, haddock, huss, plaice) deep fried in flour batter with chips (french fries) dressed in malt vinegar. |
English breakfast* ** eggs, back bacon, sausages, fried bread, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato, fried potatoes |
|
Bangers and Mash** mashed potatoes and sausages |
Cottage Pie* made with minced beef and vegetables topped with mashed potato |
